Roger Mayweather, trainer and uncle of undefeated American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr., said there should be no surprises in case his nephew goes up against Filipino champion Manny Pacquiao.
“People got to realize this: Whether they do it or not, Pacquiao already been knocked out twice. So there ain’t nothing new about him getting knocked out again,” Roger said in Examiner.com.
Roger was referring to Pacquiao’s losses early in his career, and claimed the Filipino boxer is inferior to Floyd.
He said his nephew will expose Pacquiao’s weakness.
“We’re going to see how good Pacquiao really is,” said Roger.
On whether the superfight will push through, Roger said the bout will eventually happen.
“The fight is too big for it not to happen,” he said.
“I think it’s probably going to happen in May… that’s what I think. That’s my time frame. That’s what I see,” he added.
